I am having 1 table for all of the boyfriends/girlfriends and wifes/husbands.

There will be about 7 of them so I am just making a table close to the head table.

We will have our table then his family at table 1, my family at table 2, and that table for table 3, all in front of the head table

we're having a sweetheart table - just us at a small table. and then we're sitting our bridal party with the people we'd sit them with if they weren't in the bridal party.

You can do one of several things:

  • Have the WP at the head table, and their SO's at the guest tables.  It's not the end of the world if they sit apart for this one meal.  They'll be sitting and mingling together wherever they please after the speeches are concluded anyway.
  • If your head table is large/long enough, have the SO's sit at the head table with your WP.  It doesn't matter that they won't match.
  • Skip the head table all-together, and have everyone sit with their SO's at the guest tables.  You and your DH can either sit at a large table with your family, or sit at a sweetheart table just for the two of you.

Best of luck!

I only have a matron of honour and a best man.. so.. their significant others are sitting wherever we end up putting them.. which is no problem since one is my BIL and the other is a good friend.. they won't be sitting with complete strangers.. people they know.

If the wives and boyfriends are not part of the wedding, then why sit them with the wedding party? It's only for the supper ... cant there be a table just for the wives and boyfriends of the bridal party?  They'll be together the rest of the evening and most likely sitting at the same table with their wives and boyfriends for the rest of the night after supper?

I totally agree.  It's only for the supper - they have the rest of the evening to be together.

We had enough to have there own table. I had there table close to the head table and we made sure that they were all introduced to each other before the wedding so they didnt seem so out of place. My girlfriend sat the significant others at her friend tables, and again introduced them all at the stag and doe and stuff so they didnt feel awkward.  Its just for the meal anyway, its not like they will be sitting at the table all night.

I have one MOH (sister) and 1 best man.  SOOO I plan on having my sister and her date (who is comming from England and won't know anybody incuding me....ha ha) and my best man and his wife all sit at the head table.  That makes 6 of us total.  Still working on other details, like where to put my parents and such.
