For those of you who read the post 'silly family drama', you'll know about my s**t disturbing aunt.  My question is....do you send an invitation out of courtesy to someone who has already said that they wouldn't be able to attend before the invitations have been sent out.  I feel like I should send it to her and my uncle anyway with a note saying that their pressence will be missed, or something to that effect.  Any suggestions...

thanks

I haven't read the other post but if you want them there I would send it just like you said.. if the circumstances change they will already have all the info.

I think when it comes to family, some courtesy invites are a necessity.  I invited my aunts and uncles even though I knew they would not come, because it would have seemed really rude and started an entire family war if I hadn't - not that it matters to me much, as I barely know any of them, but they are family and it would have made my mother look and feel bad.  Besides, you never know who might end up making it after all! It's now 11 days before my wedding and I just found out that one of my uncles is going to come, after all - surprise!

Send her the invite. That will leave the ball in her court to decline or accept it.  Do not include a note that they will be missed. You never know if they might change their mind.

If they decline .. so be it. There is no need to send them any note about how you will miss their presence at your wedding ... that isnt something you would do with other guests is it?

If they decline but send  you a gift .. then I would send the note about missing them and graciously thank them for their gift.

If they accept, then great.. you'll see her at the wedding!

You may as well send it if you know they aren't coming. I think your other post said your aunt was upset her kids were not going to be invited? Make sure the invite is clear on that too JUST incase she decides to attend.

Send it anyways.  I have a cousin who had a heart attack about a month ago and I know she will not be attending as she cannot drive but I sent it anyways.
