wow i am so glad that you all like them!! we haven't ordered them yet... but are strongly considering it!!! I really do like them!  But my mom thinks that it would be better to have the raised lettering of a 'professional printing company'.  I did go to a couple stationary shops...and they both said that you cannot bring in the stationary for them to print... you have to buy the stationaryfrom them!!! ARGGGG!! But these invites are not offered/made in Canada.... so ordering online and printing them yourself is really the only way to go.  But I am soo happy that you all think they are formal enough.... even without the raised lettering????  For those of you who asked, I originally found them on an ebay store and then found them cheaper on this website:
http://marilynskeepsakes.cathysexpress.com/  .
MLD.... my plan is the have all the guys in silver/gray vests.  The purple of the girls dresses will be matched by their boutiners.
Thanks again ladies! I am sooo glad that you all like them..... I guess it is just the stress of a picky mother that will make me worry about some of my planning decisions!!! ~ Alli xoxo

They are beautiful - and the branch detailing is very reminiscent of the trees outside Casa Loma. Perfect in my opinion.

I assume your Mother is talking about thermographied invitations (raised lettering). The other options are engraved (the most expensive along with letterpress, where the back of the invitation is pushed out), letter press (where the front is pushed in) or simply printed. Having looked very extensively at invitations recently (my sister is also getting married shortly), printed invitations look much liked engraved ones. People are more likely to notce the style of the invitation and the overall look than the printing. Tell your mother if you get them professionally printed, it will look a lot like engraving (more expensive and formal) in the clarity of the letters. The only way I could tell the difference in the samples at Ashleys was to look at the back.

In terms of getting it printed, try Kinko's - they should be able to do it on a laser printer which will have a very clean look.

Good luck - I think they are very pretty and elegant!!!
