I am a Toronto Bride getting married in Beamsville Sept 8/06. My wedding is at Pennisula Ridge Winery and we are have 48 guests. I am looking for a great place for cupcakes or cakes in the Burlington, Hamilton, Niagara Area. Any suggestions? Same with Flowers...someone suggested Blossoms or LUX Living in Burlington. Anyone using (used) them?

As for invitations...I am not into the traditional ones I really like the ones I found on this site www.theuncommonbride.com What do you think? Any suggestions? I am too chicken to do the DYI.

Laura

Hi,
Great choice! I bought my invitations from the uncommonbride and LOVE them!! I sent them out a couple of weeks ago and the feed back on them has been great-our guests think they are wonderful. We chose "Ella" since we are having an out of town wedding and needing a map included and some extra details. We are also getting Patti to do our coordinating thank-you cards, placecards, and favours. Her prices were reasonable too, I thought. Highly recommended!!

EXCELLENT...I thought Patti's prices were really good too. We liked ELLA as well but we don't have that much info for our guest...I am waiting for my samples to come next week...I think I selected maggie, hannah and madison.

Anyone out there with cake or flower suggestions for me???

Anna Olson, from the show Sugar on the food network, has a shop in the niagara region.  All  the stuff they use there is top notch and fresh.  If Eric Peacock is your caterer, he highly recommends Olson's.

As for flowers, I am using Vintage Design Company.  Jennifer is wonderful and is based out of Jordan.  She does very good work.

I am using Sweet Celebrations for my cake and they are located in Stoney creek, really good cake at an affordable price and they are willing to work with you to accomplish what you want. I am using Adas flowers in Oakville, they have been really good so far.

I haven't met with Jennifer as of yet.  I just spoke with her to book the date.  I have worked with Jennifer before on weddings and I trust her completely.  I will pretty much just tell her my colours and my favourite flower and then let her do the rest.  My centrepieces I bought (all I need are a few roses for each table), I don't have a wedding party, so all I need is a bouquet for myself and a flower for FH and maybe something for the cake table.  We're trying to keep it cheap.  As I said before she does fantastic work and she's super nice to deal with.  Give her a call.
