I really want to have a candy buffet but is it supposed to take place of something like a cake or dessert... I think it would be fun but I dont want to substitute that for anything else... and when do I "serve" the buffet? Before dinner? after dinner? when the guests arrive at the reception? so confused... If you have answers for me that'd be great... Thanks Much!

Well from just what I have seen on the boards ... it
does not take the place of the sweets...its just an
additional thing! As for when to serve it .... I'm not
sure...you could have it ready at the beginning and have
people do that before the reception starts...or after
dinner before cake cutting? I also remember reading that
some people provide containers so that they can take
them home afterwards...

Our reception is a cocktail reception, so we are having the candy buffet ready from the start. We aren't having a sweets table, but are still having a wedding cake, so the candy buffet is sort of like a little extra sweet to the cake.

Hope that helps!

It doesn't have to take the place of anything, we are setting up a little table off to one side throughout the day that people can graze at whenever, mind you, we are having wedding dinner and reception all in the same place.

Wear a white wedding dress?  Why, are we bar hopping?

We are having a candy buffett. Simply for the reason that I have a huge sweet tooth and I love candy and also cause I thought it was such a unique idea. We are not having a " sweet table" or midnight buffet. So this is kinda a replacement for me.

Good question. I'm just thinking about having a candy buffet now. I think it will take the place of favours ( I'll have little bags there). We will also be giving a donation to charity.

I am having dessert (with dinner) and a late night "snack" (cake, crackers, cheese etc) when should I have the candy buffet available?

At the beginning I won't be there - I'll be getting photos and the crowd will go to the hall for cocktails - should it be out already?
