Hey all,

I've just decided to do a candy buffet. FH loves the idea and another CB'er has offered to share her left over bags and containers (thanks deloresdoe) so I'm wondering. Where did you get your candy from? How much did you spend? How many different types of candy did you have?
Post pics if you'd like!

we're having a candy buffet too... and were going to get all of our candy from the bulk barn or a private bulk store... (lower prices)... hope that helps

We too our having a candy buffet .. but we are having a mini one.  We will be getting our candy from walmart, our dominion has a good bulk section and the bulk barn.  Keep your eyes open for sales and stock up...keep in mind however the shelf life of products and dont buy to far in advance.  We are having Gum, jelly beans, hershey kisses, M&M's.  Thats it for now.. but you never know with me.. I change my mind all the time.

ceriwen,

Just a note... be careful if you have any peanut allergies at your wedding. I"m a teacher and we can't use candies from the bulk barn because they can't guarantee that the candies haven't come into contact with nuts... Fh is allergic to peanuts but it's not severe... just a thought...

I got this tip from these boards and they are great.

At Dollarama they have really nice silver plated scoops that look like the scoops you would see in a candy shop. They were, of course, one dollar each and will really look nice on my buffet I am sure.

I can give you a better idea of how much candy I went through on June 17th but just posted that very questions. I want to have just the right amount. (I would eat all left over candy for sure).

hmmmm am off to a dollar store (they are great aren't they?) thanks for a great tip. I am going to start buying my candy (sealed in bags ) now(they won't go stale that way!) a little at a time ( and then sending it to my mom so I won't eat it lol) that way it won't seem so expensive, then go to scoop and save when we get home to get the rest!!!! dollar store all the way for the containers too as well as Ikea. we are using all glass(that should be interesting for travelling....hmmmm) containers.
