Let's see, just finished talking to my mom about everything, so lets write it all down, see how much I remember
Dress- Mary's bridal (the maker) from somewhere in Lacomb
Bridesmaid dresses- Alfred Angelo, bought in BC and Fort Mac (that's where BM's are from)
Caterer- AAA elegant affairs catering, we are doing the delux BBQ
Photographer- Night and Day photography, really awesome, the whole day for under a grand
Invitations- Being made but buying supplies at Michaels
Favors- being made but buying supplies at Michaels, not sure where we are going to buy beeswax though
Centerpieces- being made, getting straw from friend's, mason jars from my mom, sand from a sandbox tealights from Jysk, 100 for $5 can't go wrong there
Liquor- COSTCO sherwood park, they open a liquor store next month, woohoo cheaper than Superstore hopefully
Ceremony- OLPH catholic church in Sherwood Park
Reception- the log cabin, it's beside a baseball diamond, where FH first asked me out in highschool

I'm not too sure what else we need although if anyone has any hints for me that would be great.
Almost forgot, we are getting Slurpee machine to make virgin drinks, like pina colada's and margarittas, not sure where we will rent them, but thought it was a nice bonus for the middle of the summer

June 30, 2007 Is my favorite day

Hello there ladies!

Glad to see lots of Edmontonians here! I have just started doing my wedding shopping. I was really looking forward to a venue at the University, Timms Center. But everytime I propose a date to them, they say that that is not a good time for them for whatever reason. My wedding is still two years away, it's not like it's last minute or anything.

Anyway, I really wanted to have it at the University, but does anyone have any suggestions of good place? I really fell in love with the lobby at the timms center. http://www.timmscentre.ca/
Does anyone know of anything else that may be would be similar. Or anything else at the University?

Chedin,  I went to a wedding last year at the Faculty Club and it was gorgeous.  It is on the second level and overlooks the river valley.  The dance floor is in front of a large fire place, where the ceremony can also be held.  It really is beautiful, and would be good for all seasons.  And another bonus, you are still at the university.

khoshkacat-where are you having your dress made?

It's kinda a weird situation. The top of my gown is a corset, so I had it made through Nightshade Corsets (www.nightshadecorsets.com) and the bottom skirt section is being sewn by a seamstress named Ilona. She was recommended by Estees Fabrics and is amazing. She actually sent me to Nightshade as that's what they specialize in. Let me know if you want to know any other details!
