Hey portia, I have veneers and have had them now for about 6 months. I am only twenty and was very wary of getting "fake teeth" nstead of doing extensive ortho and getting my own teeth all fixed. Unfortunately all the ortho in the world still wouldn't fix my oversized front teeth. I took the jump and did it and I have never been happier with my smile. I love to laugh and smile and I felt so self conscious doing it and found myself smiling less until I got my new teeth. They don't look fake, just looks like I was born with nice straight and proportionate teeth. They were sensitive to biting into things for the first few months but now not at all. Feels like I've had them forever and they're just as comfy as my own teeth were. I say go for it, but it all depends on your situation. I had a great experience.

my SIL got them done.  she had pretty crooked teeth and wasn't sure if braces would give the result she wanted.  she got about 6 or 8 veneers done on the top front of her mouth and they look fantastic.  she absolutely loves them and wishes she'd done it sooner.  i believe it cost several thousand dollars but i'm not sure exactly.

my very good friend is a dentist and i know she highly recommends them to people.  she's even said she'd do my teeth (and they're fairly straight and even) if i wanted a more perfect smile.  i know she'd never recommend something to a close friend unless it was a good thing for them.

you could always ask your dentist about them at least to see if you'd be a good candidate for them and what the cost would be.

One day I will probably neeed them..I have an underbite..It sucks way worse than an Overbite. Overbites are easier to correct. To correct my bite the dentist suggested jaw surgery in which they would break my jaw in at least one if not more spots recovery is 2 months and the worst thing is it costs over 2000.00 none covered by regular insurance. I think I would go through all that to correct my bite if I could..Nothings worse than teeth insecurities so if you want veneers I would say its worth it and go for it!
