Ok, my wedding planner gave me the names of 3 florists which they use, and their websites. My package includes a standard hand-tied bouquet and boutonnière, and that's all.
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do... and I need some help.
First, my dress:
(it also has the red around the bottom, and it's darker in real life than it looks in the picture)
Our ceremony will be on top of the Lake Louise ski hill, so the scenery will look something like this:

We are aiming for a mountain/outdoor theme with the reception, which will more than likely be decorated with cedar trees, mini-mountain fountains and river rocks. So obviously I want something that's not super rigid and formal, but still formal enough for a wedding (totally confusing, I know). Colours are red & white with gold accents. I'd like something that has the look of wildflowers, though obviously there's not much available at the end of September that still would be found in nature.
Some of the pictures I already found that I liked, but weren't quite right:

The two florists that I was able to contact gave me some lists of flowers that would be available and suit what I'm looking for. Now I need help finding examples to look at and thing about.
Florist # 1: "Some flower options in red and white include carnations, roses, gerberas, mini gerberas, spray roses, freesia, and alstromeria. We can get cedar in September that could be included in your bouquet. The best way to incorporate a gold accent is with the ribbon on the stems of the bouquet. If you would like, we could also spray some greenery gold to mix throughout the bouquet as well."
Florist # 2: "If you want to incorporate cedar, it should be available in September, and I can definitely add pine cones and twigs too if you wish. This would make it a looser more natural looking posy. If you want to stick to red and white flowers, then roses and Gerberas are a great way to go. Other summery/mountainy flowers would be Hypericum berries which come in red and burgundy, Daisies the larger ones (approx. 1-1/2 inches in diameter each bloom), white Freesia." (she also wanted to know if I wanted a loose bouquet or a tighter one--she said that all the examples I gave her were quite tight.)
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Melissa

This one's really pretty and would fit your colours perfectly:

I agree with the one florist's suggestion to use gold ribbon to tie the bouquet, and maybe add some hypericum berries:
Some twigs would look very cute too.

This is all so confusing.... and I know that in the big scheme of things, it's not really going to matter, that no matter what I pick, it'll look great, I just have this stupid need to worry about it.
The yellow one I liked cause it looked very "wild", with the little mini daisies... I see those types of flowers all over the mountains, all summer long. I don't really like the yellow though. Can anyone identify the little green sprouts? Is that seeded eucalyptus or whatever it's called?
The red & white one you just re-posted, Rikke, I do like a lot. Just that it doesn't have that "wild" look I'd like. Maybe if I got some mini daisies instead of the big ones? and/or replaced some of the roses with red gerberas?
Not sure about the berries... they kinda look a little too "christmas" to me. Maybe if I saw them with the rest of it, it wouldn't.
I agree with the gold around the stems, either completely or not.
OooOooh, I just found a centrepiece with roses, gerberas, freesia and gold accents:

and are those cedar or some sort of evergreen sprigs in there? It's pretty.
Not sure how I feel about alstromeria, I'm not sure I like the colour/markings they have on the inside of the bloom, but maybe they'd look good, too.
There's just too many choices.. anyone have any other bouquet pictures to confuse me more?
Melissa
Edited to add: I just found this: does anyone know what the red berries are?

The greenery in that centrepiece looks like ferns, and the berries are hypericum berries.

Rikke... you're right, those *are* those berries. So much for my "it looks like Christmas" thought, huh? Maybe I was just seeing Christmas-themed things and thought it was because of the berries. *shrug*
I discovered something new... myrtle.

Apparently it's like "high-end" baby's breath, and symbolizes love, marriage and sometimes fertility. An old tradition I found stated that a bride was supposed to give each of her bridesmaids a sprig of myrtle out of her bouquet, and they were all supposed to plant it; If the plants grew & bloomed, the girl(s) who planted it would be married soon.
I've asked the florists about it and am trying to arrange appointments to go see both of them in person and see what they have to offer. I'm not sure which one I'll go with yet, but I appreciate the ideas so far!
Keep 'em coming!
