in our newspaper it said the girl had nazi propaganda and a swastika drawn by her parents on her body... I agree with the children being taken because there was obviously neglect, and they were irrisponsible. Their beliefs are not cause to take the children, but this is more than thatExactly! The drawing of swastika on her might have been the instigator of further investigation though. I don't know that a 7 year old would draw that particular sign on themselves.

| OK, just read the updated article. I change my statement. I believe they were right in taking the kids. In the first article, the mom said she was away working a lot, I wonder who was taking care of hte kids? The husband? Yikes!

I also believe that in the second story, the mom is full of it. This is just a way to get her kids back.
If her DH was in fact a white supremisist and a bigot, this is not new news to her. She knew exactly what was going on and is now looking for media sympathy

I'm on the fence here. I would need to know more about the case against the family. She also defends the use of the swastika, pointing out that it is based on an ancient symbol for prosperity. <-- this is true, although in this day and age, people are unlikely to associate it with anything other than Nazi beliefs. Agreed. I thought the same thing. Although it is a Northern European symbol (I believe), but then she says she's a "proud Scottish chick." And she admits to being a white supremacist, so it seems clear that she's not using it entirely as a cultural symbol. The 2nd link talks about the stuff that was written on the girl, some in permanent marker. I don't think that's okay, especially what was written. Yes, kids draw on themselves (mine at 9 and 11 still do sometimes) but they do it to themselves! There's no way the 7 year old did that stuff herself. And it was pretty hateful, IMO. There's too many unknowns for me to comment on whether or not the mother should have her kids living with her. We just don't know the whole story.
