How far in advance of your weddings were your showers held? Had your wedding invitations already been sent?

I had my showers at the end of April and we are getting married June 21st. I think that we sent out the shower invites first and the wedding invites followed shortly after. It was nice to have it early because then it gave us time to write all the thank you cards and put things away.

My shower was in July sometime and my wedding was in August. Our wedding invites were sent out at the end of May/beginning of June and my shower invites went out end of June/beginning of July.
I'm having another shower (baby shower) this summer, it's on the 28th and my SIL sent out the invitations today.

My shower is July 5th and the invites went out a week ago. The invitations for the wedding went out in April because most people will have to travel for the wedding.
Date: August 9th, 2008 on beautiful Vancouver Island

we sent out our wedding invites in the begining of May, we had our Jack and Last Saturday (June 7), sent out the invites for my shower this week and having my shower Sunday July 8, we wanted to give people a breather, and I feel I have all my major events for my wedding spread apart.

I had both my showers about a month before the wedding. So my invites had of course been mailed long before.
