I've heard the old wives' tale that if you have bad heartburn it means your baby must have lots of hair, but I never really put much stock in it. I was talking to someone on the weekend though, and she said that she had awful heartburn and all three of her babies were born with lots of hair. She swears that it's because of all the tums she ate while pregnant though, rather than the other way around. She figured the calcium in the tums had something to do with it. That's the first time I'd ever thought about it that way - anyone else heard this?

| The only time I have had heartburn was when I was prego (both times) and I had it soooooooo bad. This is my little guy... 
A year old and hes got tons more hair then he was born with LMAO!! My 1st had a full thick head of dark hair when she was born so I think it just depends on the baby not the heartburn lol.

How much hair a baby is born with is genetic. My doctor said this specifically since Annaliese was born at almost 42 weeks and one of the nurses asked if her full head of hair was because she was so late. I also had very little heartburn with Annaliese but really bad heartburn with Joelle. Joelle was also born with lots of hair, but she seems bald compared to her sister. LOL.
I used to think that heartburn was more with being pregnant with a girl, but I've since been proven wrong on that one.

| i had heartburn with all 3 and all 3 had full heads of hair! the worst was the last time-the docrot told me because i popped out with her so much more then the other 2 and when you are pregnant your stomache does get pushed up a bit and that is a major cause of heartburn. i lived on gavascon with her-tums didn't cut it!

| I've heard this wives tale too... I had a lot of heartburn with my pregnancy and Sophie was born with a fair amount of hair. I don't think its really true, I think it had more to do with the fact that she was quite long... but here is Sophie a few hours after birth with her head of hair.

| A friend of mine had NOOOOOOOO heartburn and her baby was born with hair that you could put into a clip .... we're talking Suri Cruise hair... 
She had that much hair at BIRTH .... And my cousin who had INSANE heartburn had a baby with very little hair. So I don't believe it ... like you said, it's an old wives tale.
