Canadian Brides,
Statistics have shown that the average couple (most often primarily the Bride of course) will spend in excess of TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY HOURS planning their wedding!!! That equates to SIX WEEKS of full-time work!
It is with this in mind, that SKIP-A-BEAT Entertainment provides an all-inclusive DJ and reception planning package - simply to take the stress off of our clients so that they can be the host of their reception and not have to worry about the details...
The term "all-inclusive" is often thrown around loosely, but what does it really mean? In our case, we include:
1) Unlimited reception consultation, planning and advice to ensure that your night is spectacular! 2) Dinner and Cocktail Music specifically chosen with your taste in mind 3) Unlimited dancing time - why feel rushed? 4) A core light package - just enough to create a party atmosphere without detracting from the fact that this is a wedding reception. 5) A searchable database of music so that your guests can have fun picking songs! 6) Fully backed up equipment - right down to carrying 2 microphones! We will not let you down!7) The peace of mind knowing that we carry $2,000,000 in liability insurance. 8) A FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE that we will deliver on what we promise! 9) We will gladly act as MC (at no extra charge) or work with your MC to ensure that they understand their role. 10) Access to our reports library - we have written reports on every aspect of your wedding day (not just the ceremony and reception). 11) Access to our amazing vendor network - should you still be looking for a vendor or two, we can provide you with options! 12) An extremely inexpensive alternative to videography - we have a video package that won't break the bank! 13) Very affordable digital projector and screen rentals. 14) Access to a reception planner that you can seek advice or guidance from - at no additional cost. 15) The ability to contact past clients, not only for references, but often we can put you in touch with someone who used your venue... 16) A free copy of our Monthly Tips and Ideas Newsletter - each month there is always a unique contest for our readers! 17) Flexible payment arrangements - we know that planning a wedding is an expensive endeavour! 18) We PROMISE to pack your dance floor and further promise that we will not use any cheesy tactics to do it! That's right, SKIP-A-BEAT Entertainment is CHEESE FREE!
As you can see, we are NOT the DJ company that simply shows up and hits play! We are FAR more than that. We offer the expertise and peace of mind which allows you to be the host at your reception without worry!
Our initial consultations are absolutely FREE and are less about "sales pitch" and more about educating and providing options...
All the best with your planning! _________________________ Skip-A-Beat Entertainment "We Make Your Event A Memorable One" 1-866-99-TUNES http://www.skipabeat.ca

Canadian Brides,
With wedding season in high gear, we thought you might be interested in knowing some of the 1st dance songs that our clients have used for their 1st dance. We are also interested in knowing what you will be using for YOUR first dance!
Here are the songs that our clients have used so far this year: 1) The Slip - If One Of Us Could Fall 2) Rascal Flatts - God Bless the Broken Road 3) Shania Twain - From This Moment 4) Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight 5) Beatles - In My Life 6) Keith Urban - Making Memories Of Us 7) Metallica - Nothing Else Matters 8) Sade - By Your Side 9) Bryan Adams - Heaven 10) Theory of a Deadman - In The Middle
As you can see, this is quite an eclectic list, but the classics still rule!
Wishing you a packed dance floor and life long memories!
Brad...

5 Tips To Take Your Reception From Good... To GREAT!!! |
- Delegate! Delegate! Delegate! The bridal party wants to help you in any way that they can. We are seeing an emerging trend in which Brides and Grooms are doing more and more themselves, including staying late to help clean-up and organize things that need to be removed from the hall. This is YOUR big day - the only day in your life (other than your birth day, but I bet you don't remember that) that is ALL about you! Don't be afraid to ask for help!
- If you are going to opt to have disposable cameras on the tables, be sure to create a list of the photos that you want! Guests will only be too happy to try and get the photos that you want, if they know what those are. You can do this by placing a simple list on card stock, right on the table beside the camera - be sure to have your MC mention it, and perhaps have the DJ announce it part way through the night.
- Trust your DJ! We recently had a client come up to us part way through the night and mention that one of her younger nephews had complained that we had not played his requests. Once we pointed out to the Bride that the requests were for songs like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Foghat, she completely understood and appreciated our censorship. As it turns out, her nephew knew of these songs through a game called Guitar Hero - this was not danceable stuff, and we knew that it would kill the dancefloor.
- Is your photographer leaving early? In most cases, there is no need to miss out on having professional photos of things like your cake cutting or first dance. We will show you how to maximize the time that you have with your photographer to get all the important shots. For instance, in cases where the photographer is not staying for dinner, why not perform the 1st dance immediately upon grand entrance, followed immediately by the cake cutting?
- Want to be organized and avoid stress? Create a spreadsheet (simple Excel will do). Have columns for Guest Name, Guest Addresses, Date Invitation Was Seent, Has a Reply Been Received, Attending/Not-Attending, Gift Given & Thank-You Card Sent. This will allow you to track the date of each milestone and ensure that nothing is forgotten.

Don't like the idea of a garter toss? You're not alone... One recent client shared an idea in which they will toss a Leaf jersey instead... They still want the fun of the toss, but don't like the idea of someone potentially hanging the Bride's garter from their rear view mirror - can't say that I blame them...
