| Having trouble posting... let's try this again: After reading this post I checked my own RSVP cards only to find out that they are too small as well!!! They measured just over 130mm. I have already mailed half of my invitations. I'm a little confused about the procedure for undersized mail though. I spoke with 2 different Canada Post representatives and got 2 different answers. First I called the post office at Shopper's Drug Mart and she confirmed that my RSVP cards would require double postage. But she also mentioned that most of the time they just let them slide through with single postage. She referred me to a customer contact number for Canada Post so I could call them directly and see if there was anything they could do about my invitations that have already been mailed. The story I got from Canada Post was totally different. The representative I spoke with said the minimum size is 14cm regardless of postage. He said that these small response envelopes jam the machines and things get shut down etc etc. So he said you can't just put double postage on them. He was very nice about it, but said he was sorry they are simply too small to be accepted and the minimum size is 14cm regardless of the postage amount. He said that the best thing to do was research before hand, but he realizes it's obviously too late for that now. He also suggested I go back to the card company and give them my feedback because he said they probably don't realize that they are selling cards that are too small. I found a sizing/price chart on the Canada post website and there is no line for undersize mail. I think I will just put the remainder of my invitations in the mail 'as is' and hope for the best seeing as they have already been printed and stamped. Just thought I would share my experience on this issue for other brides that are wondering the same thing. Did anyone else have trouble with undersize RSVP cards? I should probably mention that I didn't print any return address on the RSVP envelope, I thought my address on the front would be sufficient enough.

Mcksly (6/18/2008) I was married on June 6th, and I sent out our thank you notes this past monday.. I just got them all sent back to me in the mail becasue apparently they are too small and so need DOUBLE postage. They are supposed to be 140mm in width.. and they are just over 130... I actually went to canada post when I was mailing them and they put the postage on for me!!!! Now what am I to do?? I don't want to pay for double postage when I could just put them in a bigger envelope.. but Canada post have already put the postage on them for me! I am sooo mad!!!we had this problem with our reply cards! everyone that guest's sent back to use got dinged double postage-my mom had to pay(they all went to her house)when she asked why(cause she had stamped them all)we got told because they were too small to go thru the sorter so they to be sorted by hand. too freaken bad! thats your job! my mom fought enough about that we didn't end up paying it all-i think we gave them $5 more but i think it's insane! Actually, its not their job, it states clearly on their website the size of envelopes and how much postage is needed. When you take them into the post office and ask them to weigh the package for postage.. and then they put the postage with their hands onto your package.. it is their job to tell you that it is too small. Not everyone has the internet or computer.. Thinking of my grandmother taking a parcel into the post office, and then them saying to her.. Didn't you check our website!
