I don't have my marriage certificate yet, but I've been using my new name wherever I can, to get used to it. Because I haven't changed anything big, like my passport or provincial ID, I feel like I'm a criminal!!

Does anyone else feel this way?

When did your new name start to feel yours?

I did the same thing. It does feel a little bit weird, lol. I didn't change my name on my ID for 6 months just because it took nearly that long for my certificate to come in the mail!

I started using my new last name right away. I got my marriage certificate in the mail like 4-5 weeks after the wedding so I changed over all my IDs and stuff right away. My Mastercard is still in my old name however, so I still have to sign it with my old signature when I use it. I didn't feel like an imposter- I got married so I was going to use my new last name. LOL.

It was so exciting, now it's old news.

My marriage certificate arrived a couple of months ago and I am still in the process of changing everything over. I did get the major things done like driver's license, insurance, banking info, and... Facebook, LOL! I STILL feel weird everytime I say my new last name or have to sign it. It doesnt feel like ME...! I've just got to get used to it.
