Hey!
I need some help planning out the ceremony and was hoping someone could post some links to some good templates. We are having a minister perform our ceremony, but want to keep things simple. This is what I'm thinking so far:
Processional
Opening Words from minister
OPening reading
Song
Second reading
Minister says a few words about marriage
Vows and exchange rings
Catholic priest gives blessing (long story...we're catholic but not wanting a catholic wedding)
Closing by the minister
Introduce us a newly married couple
Resessional
I need some hint about where music would be appropriate, and also some different wording ideas.
Any suggestions????

| I know it's not common, but for our ceremony, everything is already laid out and we can't really vary from the wording much at all. We can choose our readings, etc, but the stuff the minister has to say is all set in stone. You might want to ask your officiant if that is the case for you as well. And you can have as much or as little music as you like. I think "standard" is coming down the aisle, during the signing of the register, and walking back up the aisle. And during communion if you're having it.

In terms of being close to a standard church service, I would put the song between the second reading and the priest's message. JMO

Any suggestions????Was it difficult to find a Catholic priest who agreed to bless the wedding even though you didn't get married in a church!?! We are in EXACTLY the same situation, but didn't think we could find a priest that would agree to it because I didn't think catholics recognized the marriage unless you were married in a church!

Hey! The priest who agreed to come to our wedding and give a blessing is a long-time family friend. He's known for being more non-traditional. If you really want a Catholic priest to bless you, ask around....but I know that most priests wouldn't because it definitely is out of the ordinary. I'm not actually sure if the blessing will "mean" anything officially in the Catholic church (I'm pretty sure it won't), but it is more just for us (and for my grandma  ).
