I am running on lack of sleep right now, so forgive me if this message doesn't make sense. Last night Arianna gave us a bit of a "scare". We just weren't sure what was going on with her. She seemed to be stuck in between being awake and REM sleep. She was very aggressive in her movements and would settle down for a bit and then started her movements again. This went on for hours. And when she did finally sleep soundly, when she would wake up, it would be the same situation. She was a little bit off of her normal schedule but nothing too extreme. We were just wondering if this is normal for babies to do? Or is it an underlying concern to keep looking at for something else. It didn't seem to bother her, but it kind of freaked us out a bit because she was not easily awoken. She would breast feed and everything normally, it was just that odd "state" she was in.

| HOw old is she now Jess? Will went through that a little while a go for a few nights. Actually he's done it a few times. He'd wake up screaming in what sounded to be like pain. It wasn't until HOURS later when I finally gave him some tempra that he settled down. He's done that a few times and I think it was related to teething or a growth spurt or something and once he did have an ear infection. It's really nerve wracking though! Keep an eye on her temp just to make sure she doesn't have a fever as well... I'm sure she'll be back to normal in no time!

She is almost at her 3 month birthday - so a growth spurt is due right? It almost looked like she was uncomfortable in her own skin..if that makes sense. Her temperature is fine...and now she is sleeping very peacefully (of course...murphy's law).

Yeah, maybe it's a growth spurt! You may never know... but it would make sense. I hope the night goes better tonight. I found the tempra worked but DS had some really painful sounding cries and screams (which is TOTALLY out of character for him - he rarely cries!).

My first thought would be some kind of reaction to the antibiotics in your milk? Your DH is a pharmacist so he probably knows better if that makes any sense. Maybe a gassy tummy? She is due for a growth spurt, could she have been overly hungry?
It sounds pretty scary. I don't think you would be over-reacting if you mentioned it to her doctor at her next check-up. Annaliese is going next week for her 3 month check-up, does Arianna have the same? Can you believe they are 3 months already?

| I hadn't started the antibiotics until this morning, so it couldn't have been that. But good thoughts!!! Arianna doesn't get in to see the doc until the beginning of August, and he is very difficult to see. I might try the walk in tonight to see if they have anything to say...it is just as hard to get into the walk in though. but I went to the well Baby Clinic today and they didn't seem too concerned (I had video taped it) thought maybe she was just being restless and couldn't fall into a deep enough sleep. Plus maybe her rash is bothering her too (makes her very itchy at night??!??) . I can not get OVER that I have a 3 month old!!!! SOOO fast! I want her to stay little, but yet I think this stage is fun too!!!
