Ok...TWICE now...we THOUGHT we had our honeymoon booked and suddenly we dont..we were suppose to be going to sandals antigua....first time..we THOUGHT everything was fine...but..our agent called and said what they had online was incorrect....so there was no flight leaving on the monday when we thought....so we had to rework everything..she found us another flight that left on sunday at 11:15 pm..so...ok fine...the price had gone up from...2500 bucks a person to..about 2600 a person..well..just over 2600....so..whatever..at this point...whats an extra couple hundred bucks.....NOW...i get another phonecall saying that THAT flight cannot be ticketed together so in order to book that flight..its gonna cost ANOTHER 250 bucks a person....im REALLY REALLY getting frustrated here with the flight situation to Antigua...i wanted to book sandals because i thought it would be so easy breasy and it just seems to be coming a hassle....BAHHHHHHH.....Just needed to vent! this is ridiculous...i wanted this over and done with...now i dont know WHERE to go...maybe i should go back to my original plan of just booking a week before the honeymoon and fly by the seat of our pants and see what available..which is what we originially said we'd do

If using a travel agent, I would think that they should have their facts before proceeding with your trip.  That being said, if I were you, I'd be telling the travel agent that they should be absorbing the additional costs.

I'd be furious, having them step up and absorb the additional costs due to their error would make me alot happier about the whole situation.

Have you already paid for your ticket? If so - Airlines can change flight times/or cancel a flight but in most cases, the client is not charged extra.  (At least I've NEVER had that happen to clients of mine - I've gotten them vouchers for future travel for the inconvenience, but never have they had to pay)

If you haven't booked your trip yet - I'd lose the TA - sounds to me as though they're not "taking care" of their clients the way they should...

I understand what your saying...but it may not be the Travel Agents fault. Airlines change and cancel their flights all the time and mistakes do happen, sometimes there are flights that are put into the system wrong and they get changed. Did you have your trip booked and paid for?? That does make a big difference on the outcome of things...

To the original poster: That really sucks. I'm sorry to hear your going through such a crappy booking. DH and I just came back from Sandals Dunns River Villaggio in Jamaica and it was absolutely amazing!! It was a small resort so all the staff knew us by name and we were totally papmered the whole week. I hope it all works out and you have a fantastic experience!

No...we havent booked anything yet...thats the point...when our agent went to book..thats when she found out..like...oh...this flight doesnt exist that sandals says does or...this flight has an extra fee....i actually think this is going to work out BETTER in the end...hahaha...i always wanted to do sandals st.lucia but....for some reason thought it was too expensive...so antigua we were told was cheaper...so...we just never went back and looked at st.lucia...but our agent sent us a ton of different places ranging from jamaica to st.lucia so we MIGHT even be able to do st.lucia now!!hehehe..she's looking into it for us...keep ya posted!
