Hey all.

I got married on June 2 in Ireland and my husband and I are moving home to Canada (he's Irish, I'm Canadian) in August. We are having an at home reception in September and I have a question about gifts. Before I ask, let me just say that I am NOT all about gifts!! I'm curious, however, if in your experience, guests give gifts for second receptions. We will likely be having an evening reception of hors d'oeuvres and drinks/cocktails (it would be an open bar, which is pretty standard where I come from).

Thanks!

I think that yes, it is standard to bring gifts, unless people are specifically told not to.

Some may not bring them, but many will

we are doing personalized coffee packages....each person gets 1 package of coffee with our name and wedding date and our fall theme....if there are lots of kids you could do individual hot chocolate packages??

I'm curious, too!

I will be having another "wedding" next year, a full year after my Canada wedding. I don't imagine people will bring gifts, but it would certainly mean a lot to me if they did.
