| Loriellen you are brave. I am getting married Oct 18th and almost everything is done. I have had it done and invites were out in May. I just have to have things done, I'm not so brave to leave it so long. There is another wedding on the same day at our venue and the venue has told me that other then booking and putting down their deposit the cooridinator has no idea what is being done at the site. No one has booked rooms, they have their hall and thats it. I have already visited 15 rooms have been booked by guests and I have picked out all my colours for linens and really just need to put the final details for the meal. We have a good idea what we are having we just need to confirm.

| We live in a relatively small city, we oked the church with the minister months ago, that is also where we will have the reception. We are having a small wedding, probably only immediate family and close friends. Everything in one location will make it easier. I still have to descide what we are having for food. Bridesmaids say have finger foods as it is an evening wedding. I think so too. No idea on flowers or decore Planning on having a wedding planning party with some friends.

Ok I am starting to get depressed when I read what everyone has done I know that it is crunch time but I am just having troubles getting motivated to do actual planning. I am planning the wedding out of province. I think i am mostly having troubles because fh isnt happy with the date (well his family isnt so it makes things hard for him) he wanted summer 09 but we moved things ahead bc my mom has cancer(stage 4 since 2004) and we got some bad knews around may and I decided didnt want to take chances with her health so kinda trumped him and moved it ahead. His family is acting like they need more notice to attend a wedding and 5 mos was not enough???? Its not like we are rushing things we have been together for 8yrs and had a baby in december (were originally thinking of having a destination wedding for jan08 until we discovered I was expecting:hehe He just feels alot has gone on this year already with the baby, a move across the country, purchase of a new house...plus he is on these ridiculous courses for work(naval officer)..so he is stressed... So big whine and rant over.... All I have done is venue booked, dress bought(which i have a love hate relationship with), bm dresses bought(yay rw&co) and i have found an officient (just have to secure). I have to figure out invites this week and am going to ontario in 2 weeks and will figure out cake and flowers then...plus chaircovers... photog...hmmm what else?????

aww  navywife...I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I think you had every right to move the wedding up!!. some ppl work better under pressure, and some don't. either way, sending you positive planning vibes!!

Well another thing checked off, i ordered invites today and they should arrive in 4-6 days..yay I also think i found a photographer within my very limited budget (fingers crossed). Bad news, fh just was told he is going to sea so he can log more officer of the watch hours for his promo and he is gon for 7weeks from the 5th of august until the 24th of sept

| Okay, so I'm feeling rather smug. I am now off for the summer, so I have kicked this wedding thing into high gear! I have done more in the past week than the past month. Most of it shopping to my FH's grumblings. But alas, a girl's gotta shop for her wedding. All I have to do is get FH into a tux shop, my ring, rentals, confirm vendors, do paperwork for licenses/insurance. And of course, a lot of small details (and more shopping). Still have a million things to do.. great way to wreck a summer! Sending wishes for some planning frenzy for the rest of you girls. I'm starting to get excited. I'm now heading off to the site to get pictures of the place so we can start measuring for decorations! Whoo hoo!
