sorry for your loss

about the sleeping in the crib:

I put Tessa in her crib for all of her naps, and she was in teh bassinet at night. I found this worked great, as she was used to the crib and it was an easy transition when she was out of the bassinet

Congrats!!! You baby girl is such a doll!

I'm sorry for your loss... you must be feeling very emotional with all the post-partum hormones, the birth and the passing of your grandpa. As sad as this is, you have your lo to cheer you up.

Take care

Proud mom of baby girl Raphaëlle since May 22!

Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to meet her ... there's a BBQ at his lodge next week and we were going to go then ... that part makes me really sad as well.

So this week will be really tough ... my hormones are already out of whack so I'm having really good moments and sometimes I just lose control crying.  But I try not to lose control around Rachael ... I want my time with her to be a happy time.

Anyhoo, I'm going to nap .... Crys, thanks for the suggestion about the crib.  We're going to try that this afternoon.  Hopefully it works because we don't want to be sleeping on the couches that long LOL

I had some problems with BF and I remember crying for nothing thanks to the hormones so I think it's all normal at the beginning! I still cry sometimes, but happy tears... when my lo is all cuddled up in my arms and sleeps peacefully and looks so happy and well, I just look at her and think about the miracle that she is... and cry!

For the sleeping think, we got a playard, a Pack 'n Play from Graco, and put it in our bedroom and that's where she sleeps at night. During the day, I try to have her sleep in her room so that she also gets used to her bed. We plan to make her sleep in her own room at night in a couple of months. For now I like having her close by and hear her breathing. It's very reassuring for mommy!

Oh Iggy, I'm so sorry about your grandfather. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Allow yourself to grieve now, because if you don't it'll come out later and you won't be ready for it.

With all the weird hormonal changes you'll go through after giving birth, just allow yourself to feel what you feel. Rachael certainly won't know the difference right now, so please allow yourself to go through the normal stages of grief.
