I am going with a bit more expensive hair salon in Niagara Falls ($75-125 for a style) and was wondering if anyone else has gifted their girls with hair & make up? If I am to fork over $100 for each girl for hair, I am obligated to get them an additional gift?

FYI make up was given to me as a gift by my FSIL (who is a make up artist) to give to my girls.

I would ask your bridesmaids if they think that would be ok, but otherwise I think that's a great idea.

At my friend's wedding, she paid the 50% deposit on all of our dresses instead of getting us a gift; I really appreciated it.

I made my BMs pearl bracelets and got them earrings to match for their gift, AND I paid for them to have their hair done. None of them really wanted to have their hair done, but it was really important to me to have them with me the whole day- so I offered to pay for it. They paid for their own make up though.

I guess it is up to you if you feel that is enough.

I think that's a great gift however, JMO ONLY.....the reason why I am not doing anything like that is I REALLY want my MOH (no bridesmaids) to have something from us as a keepsake of our wedding. I want her to look back 20 years from now and say, I got this from Jack and Jill. Selfish and silly, I know.  Memories and pics she will have, so an "object" is definitely not necessary but it's just I want her to remember that day in another way.  By the way....I think you are very generous! It is an awesome gift.

Thanks for the advice! My bridesmaids (i have 5) have not done much to help with the wedding planning process so i may seem a bit bitter towards them - FH even suggested not giving them anything, but I could never do that! On the other hand, my MOH has been awesome and we will be giving her a "proper" gift after the wedding.

Lovemrk: I was thinking about giving my girls their manicures and pedicures as well as the hair and make-up. Approximate value - $175.00.  I wanted to do something else but I suspect that it should be enough
