We are getting married at 7 in the evening so I don't think a tradional sit down dinner at 8 pm makes sense (wedding and reception say place).  Was thinking more hor derves and finger foods.  Any ideas?

We are also getting married at 7 in the evening after the majority of guest will have already eaten so, I didn't want a sit down meal at that time either.  We are doing buffet tables with Finger Foods and Desserts (my family is making the food) for people to snack on through out the Reception and Dance.

I would love specific ideas, I am planning cold cuts, buns, desserts etc.  but what else is nice and easy, my step daughter is a vegetarian so I would also like stuff for her.

We are also getting married by candle light at 7pm. We are having a sit down served dessert instead of a meal. On SIDE tables though we are having finger foods since there will be an open bar.

Cheese trays, fruit, specialty mini sandiwches, etc.

Samosas are yummy and vegetarian   Pitas and hummus and taboule... why am I naming all ethnic foods?  Interesting... I can't think of any vegetarian foods that I don't associate with a different culture...

Veggies and dip, fruit platter/salad, taco salad (yum!), bean salad, sausage rolls, pasta salad... that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I also like the idea of a dessert table.  Cookies and bars and squares and such.  I bet you could even enlist family help to make them!

I'm getting married at 8 pm.  My food will be the standard small sandwhiches, fruit/cheese and lots of dessert as I have a sweet tooth.

Probably going to add cold appetizers as my mom is concerned there will not be enough food.  What fool goes to a wedding at 8 pm as does not eat before hand, especially when invites say dessert reception to follow?

Anyway I think a variety of easy to hold stuff will be great.  This gives people the chance to mingle more.  I would just decide if you are going to do hot or cold food, that will make it easier.
