missymiss1 (7/8/2008)
if you don't mind me asking, how much was The Royalton quoting you per person and what did that price include? Thanks
Hi Missy,
We never really received a formal quote, but verbally, the Royalton coordinator we met with quoted us $130 pp at first and then $120 pp because we said we would book on a Sunday which to me seems a bit high for a Sunday but what do I know. It included everything - lots of food, there is no rental fee for the venue, included deluxe open bar (I think but either way the bars were the same other than Grappa in delx and no grappa in the standard). No extra fees for bringing in a DJ, etc. - this seemed to be a key selling point for this venue. All included.
The menu was something like:
-antipasto bar (Deluxe)
-pasta course
-risotto with fish
-main course - steak with veggies/potatoes
-dessert
-wedding cake served
-late night sweet table + chocolate fountain (he was going to throw in the fountain or free)
-midnight porchetta station
2 B Wed July 10, 2009!
Me (29) + FH (32) + his son (12) = 10 years together in unwedded bliss.
Done so far:
Booked venue & coordinator, fought with FMIL, made up with FMIL, lost e-ring, found e-ring... only 6.5 mos to go! OMG!

Thanks for your response. Wow, $130 pp! I was looking to pay around $100 pp. I went to Paradise banquet yesterday and they quoted me $115 pp which included everything (TONS of food, deluxe bar etc. etc.) I'll have to keep shopping around I guess. I really liked the pictures I saw of the Royalton though. But $130 pp is over my budget. Keep me posted if you encounter any halls with a good price! Thanks!!

I think West River was in your price range in Woodbridge. It's a nice hall - I didn't have a good experience w/ the woman we met with but I know someone else marrying there and he says their coordinator has been great.
Also the Royalton could have come down in price I am sure. I think he was starting high expecting us to negotiate him down. We had him down to $120 when we left and didn't push very hard as we really needed to go. I leave the bartering to when I finally make my decision - like when it's narrowed down to 2 places - and I know price will be the deal breaker - THEN I will negotiate. I am sure you could get the Royalton for $100 a head if you married on a day other than Saturday or in off season and I am sure you could get it for $110 a head if you really barter well even FOR a Saturday. It's worth a shot if you love the hall, just say that your budget is tight and you want to know what they can do for you at $110 a head.
Le Jardin is definitely in your price range too - and it's STUNNING!
