Good for you for doing your own research. I can't believe that your doctor would refuse to send you for an ultrasound just because you're too young - sure, the statistics are againt it being anything to be concerned about, but that doesn't mean it's not possible! You absolutely did the right thing by insisting on it. I'm sure everything will come back normal, but it's still good to have it checked.

finding a lump in your breast is definitely unsettingly and anxiety provoking.  i'm disappointed to hear your doc said you are "fine" and did not want to go ahead with testing.  regardless of whether or not you are fine (and chances are high that you are given a neg fam history for Breast ca) i think he/she should have given you a req. for an ultrasound at the least. 

i too have found a lump in one of my breasts...i have a fam history of breast ca (but they got the ca when they were in their 70's).  mine comes and goes with my montly cycle (and with caffeine consumption too).  i'm holding off getting it looked at until it's characteristics change.
