My mom was paying for my dress so she said she would spend on mine what she payed for my sisters...soo...about 3k? she said if i didnt spend that much she would give me the difference...so...good ol frugal me went out and tried to find the cheapest dress i could...HAHAHA..she would have NONE of it....i know its my day but..the sad fact is..my mother knows me better than i do..i can admit that now....and even when i "thought" i had found the one that was like 800 bucks..she made me keep looking...sure enough..i did find my dress....and im glad she bullied me and made me keep looking cause i think if i had bought ANY other dress than this one...i would have regretted it.....i thought i had found "the one" like 3 times and she forced me to keep looking...and im so so glad she did.....i know i would have regretted my choices......when i think of the first dress i ALMOST bought..omg...id be devastated if i was wearing that...now that i know i have my dress.....the dress itself was i think about 1700 bucks????

My dress budget was $1000 including alterations. I ended up getting one at a sample sale that was 50% off - it was originally $1400. The best part is that it fits me so well that I don't need any alterations other than adding a bustle and removing the sample zippers. My MOH's mom will be doing this for free. I will definately be under budget as I am not having a veil and making my own tiara.

I found the dress the first day looking and it was going on sale that weekend. So I went back for the dress and it was still there so I knew it was the one.

I had budgeted $1000, I didn't want to spend more than $800 though b/c of all the incidentals that come up.  I'm a plus size gal and I had my heart set on a lace dress...so I knew it was a tall order, but I found it!  Maggie Sottero's "Grace", wholesale priced at $720 + $30 shipping from BC (I'm in Ontario)...in the bridal shops here it was up to $1200 for this gown, so I got a steal of a deal!

I know I won't need much alterations too b/c it's corset back and the length is near perfect!  I'll need to perfect it with the shoes I choose when it comes in.

i'm a hardcore bargain hunter so i was always saying "i'm not paying more then 2-3 hundred for some dress i'm only going to wear once...blah blah blah

well - enter dream dress. or should i say "enter $6000 dream dress that i never should have even tried on"!

so i think i did ok with my 800 dress!

I found Dream Dress in a boutique, tried it on, and nearly fell over when I saw the price - it was $2000 before taxes and alterations!

I contacted Andrea from Trinklet's Creations and she quoted me $850. Even with the $35 shipping fees, and another $100 in alterations, I was under budget.

Bloody cheek of that dress store! Ugh!

I had budgeted $600 (well, $800, but I told the store $600 so that if they showed me something a little over that price, it would still be reasonable).  I got totally lucky and got my dress for 75% off - it was a sale on the previous year's samples...I think it was $243?  The alterations cost more than my dress!

I paid $325! There's now ay I was going to spend a lot - frankly, I can't tell the difference between $500 dresses and $5,000 dresses.
Anyhow, i was pretty thrilled to score such a great deal, I just know I'll be bragging about my bargain all night!
