I was on BCP on two separate occasions and I'm not a fan. I had an issue with weight gain. The second time I went on BCP was when DH and I started dating. Several years later I started getting severe migraines and my neurologist at the time advised me to go off of them. Since that time I've had several bouts of pancreatitis and my physician will never prescribe any form of hormonal birth control for me... the risks are too high for me now.
DH and I were using just condoms prior to TTC and will likely return to that, coupled with using FAM.

I was on the Nuva Ring for approx. 1.5 years and got pregnant immediately after stopping it (didn't ever get my regular period)
this will more than likely be the last kiddo, so dh will get the snip b/c I am not going to be on BC until I'm menopausal - no thanks!

Right now I don't know, my DH only wants one child and I'd like two. But I don't think so.

| My doctor told me that the pill wouldn't change your cycles. After going off the pill, your cycle would be the same as prior (ie. regular 28 days before the pill - regular after etc). This was true for me. I was on the pill for about 15 or 16 years... maybe I was just lucky but it only took about a month to regulate my cycle and we were pregnant after 2... That being said, we are going to ttc again later this year so I won't go back on the pill until we're finished having babies and finished breastfeeding ... which will be awhile!
