HELLO!!

I'm getting married May 30 2009. I was actually going to go with that same stylist...what do you think of them..are you getting your whole wedding party done or just yourself?? Did you find the service good so far?

Also how much did you pay for your DJ? Our next step is finding a DJ...so any info would be much appreciated!

I do like them Style in Motion so far.  I may have to let you know after my wedding on Sun (this Sunday!!) but I found the service good and the lady nice.  I'm having mine and my MOH's hair and makeup done and the cost is $300.

My DJ is Equinox Sound and we are paying $538.  We did get a discount for a Sun wedding and we are having a dance that ends at 11:00.  Their usual rate I think is about $700-800.  Check out their website at EquinoxSound.com.  They will provide you with a quote online.  It's a small company.

My photographer is HMI Photography and it's just one guy and we actually paid only 900 for full day service.  He's been really good.

Hey I'm not quite an "edmonton" bride...but stony plain is close enough I figure

vendors-
Venue- Memorial hall (wedding is in Wetaskiwin)
church- Sacred heart catholic Church
DJ- Dr. Music.  He's my F-IL's neighbor.  Has done some pretty large wedding with rave reviews, definatley looking forward to it

flowers- done privately by former florist, so far mock ups are beautiful

photography- Stephen Kiers.....Ok so I make no bones that my fiance and I aren't "petite" people, but our engagment pictures were awful.  He shot 1/3 of the pictures with us sitting on the ground, and the picture was sort of shot "up" at us, giving us both double chins in just about every pic.  A bunch more were of our backs.  I like them b/c they're artsy...but these are engagement pics....we wanted more with of our faces.  Of the 50 he sent us, there are 3 we like.  I'm a little nervous about our wedding pics....may enlist fellow bride/CBer friend to do some "backup" photography

caterer- Rob Ronnie.  Can't come more highly recomended.  reasonably priced and food to DIE for!!

dress- career girl.  I didn't liket hem to start with b/c they had a girl there who probably lost them ALOT of business...but she's since been fired, and now I quite like it there.  ABC bridal has been wonderful with my shoes and veil and my moms dress.

Derks- went to the Derks next door to ABC bridal, and the lady was less than helpful.  Derks rents their tuxes all over alberta via different mens clothing stores.  B/c we have ppl renting tuxes from Edmonton, Wetaskiwin, Strathmore, Whitecourt, Camrose, Daysland, and Calgary, it just made sense for everyone to go to their local mens clothing store that rented the tuxes out rather than everyone having to drive to Edmonton or Calgary locations.  I tried to convey this info to the lady, and she was very snooty about it.  I mean, come on, Derks is still getting the money, and since they want the tuxes back the next day, I don't think its fair to make them drive out of the way to return them the next day.  I finally did get the style numbers of everything, and emailed it to everyone...but sheesh!! what a run-around!

Another Edmonton bride!  Aug 23 at Bonnie Doon Commuity Hall.

Flowers:  also Coral Design.  She was recommended to me by a friend, and she is fantastic!  She is all about making my vision come to life while saving on costs.  A+!

Hair/make-up - also In-Style Motion.  I love the fact that they come to your house!  Will make morning of very convinient.  And their prices are reasonable, another plus.  Had one trial in January, which went well, and I have another tomorrow (since I totally switched styles, lol)

Caterer - Majestic Catering.  Excellent choice for an excellent price.

Cake - Indulge! Cakes.  She is very helpful, creative and well priced.  I can't wait to see the cake!

Limo - Stars Limo.  Best deal for a large limo (needs to fit 12).  Wayyyy cheaper than the stretch hummer, plus they will decorate the limo and give us champagne!

Photographer - Picture That Photography.  I love their style.  I'm glad we booked when we did, b/c their prices have jumped and are no longer in our price range.

Officiant - Bill  Pisarchuck (sp?)  He is fantastic, very willing to listen to what we want in the ceremony, and I am so sure he will do a fantastic job
