For the past 3 weeks or so I have had some pain in the muscles all across my lower abdomen. They don't hurt when I sit or stand, just hurt for a brief second when I get up or sit down. When I roll over in bed it hurts too. Some days are worse than others, especially if I have done more physical activity the day before. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it's normal. So have other women who have had babies as well. But does/has anyone had this too? Just wondering if I'm the only one...

Yup, I had that a lot too.  Basically whenever my belly was going through a growth spurt!  It went away for me once baby dropped though.  It is very uncomfortable, but there isn't a whole lot you can do for it.  Just think, any pains you have...only get you ready for the BIG BIG BIG pain of labour!!    LOL.  Just think of it as your body prepping you....

BABY #2  ALREADY??  HOLY CRAP!!!!

I posted a similar question a couple of weeks ago.  Sounds like round ligament pain to me.  It seems to be worse like you said in the process of getting up or sitting down.  I get it if I move too quickly as well.  No fun, but apparently totally normal!

Yeah, I've been getting this for a couple of weeks now. My doctor didn't say specifically if it was round ligament pain (I asked, and he said it could be), but he said that a lot of muscles and ligaments are loosening and it's totally normal. I don't really notice it when sitting down, but definitely when I get up after sitting for a while, when getting into bed, and when rolling over in bed. (If I've been sitting for an especially long time, it's more painful and makes me waddle for the first few steps.)

ETA: I asked my doctor about it because my pain seemed lower than the round ligament pain described in my books - when I first felt it, I described it as the kind of pain you'd get from falling directly down on the bar of a bicycle...

Thanks for your replies ladies! Glad to hear that I am not the only one experiencing this. But again, I don't wish it upon anyone. It hurts like crazy! But I guess for the reason it's happening, I can tolerate it!
