| This is the dress I went with. It is an alfred angelo and it was the first one I tried on!! I got it in a 22. I have been really paranoid about my arms lately as I carry most of my weight in my upper body. So I have ordered a jacket last minute and I need your opinion. I also have to wear a veil. Do you think it will be too much wearing a veil and jacket? I am kinda stuck with the veil as it is already paid for...but I won't feel beautiful in what I am wearing without the jacket. What do you think? My Dress.

| The jacket IS beautiful, but honestly everyone will be looking at your beautiful face, your arms won't even be seen. a shawl would work and cheaper if you still aren't sure. Someone else on this thread had said how ridiculous she looked (not a quote) in strapless. I too hate myself in strapless gowns, but there isn't much else to choose from. I decided I would grow my hair long to cover the vast area of bare skin that I couldn't take my eyes away from while looking in the mirror. I tried on dresses again 2 days ago, let my hair down and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I felt much more comfy. If you don't have time to grow it out...extensions will work too. As for the arms..if you have beautiful extensions, curled or however you wish it to be styled...the hair will take the focus as opposed to any feature you feel self conscious of... Just an idea. Good luck everyone.

| p.s. As beautiful as that jacket is. If it were ME choosing it, I would have to worry about comfort. Being self conscious of your arms won't having something fitted around it make you feel more uncomfortable. Also I always worry about the itch factor when it comes to lace.

I have considered that. My mom actually decided to buy it for me so it is costing me nothing I am going for my first fitting on monday so I will see how I feel in it. I am not worried about the lace feel...I have worn shirts similar. And who knows...on my wedding day I may not care after all and I can always take it off! I guess it is more of a security blanket lol.

| I hate my arms, too. But just so you know, a lot of places will actually add sleeves to a dress if you just ask. I am having short sleeves added to my dress (they are even ordering matching fabric so it matches the dress completely). For all us gals who are bigger in the arm area and think a strapless dress has to stay that way, that is not the truth. Just thought I'd throw that out there as one other option for people.

| I'm a fluffy gal, who hates her arms! They are white and I do have stretch marks on them (from when I was younger) I thought I wanted something sith sleeves to hide my arms, but the dresses with arms almost called more attention to them and made me feel bigger. On the day of my wedding I actually wasn't self consious at all, I was very surprises. Here's a few pics of me in my dress. (Sorry about the poor quality) The dress was a size 20ish (was altered) and I didn't feel "fat" in it at all. Good luck to all you ladies looking for the perfect dress!

| I was down in the dumps about dress shopping also, but I did find a dress and fell in love with it. I was horrified when I learned the size I had to order. Heres a few pics of me in my dress on my big day!
