I wore pantyhose. I'm old-school, and bare legs just don't feel formal to me!

I think you should buy a dress that fits you well enough that you don't have to have heavy duty suck-it-in underwear underneath. And as previously stated, most dresses come with built in boning, etc. I am one of those girls who can't stand not wearing a bra, so I'm still wearing a simple cotton bra with a clear halter strap going under the halter on my dress.
