We are having a small wedding, 40 people, with an open bar. Is it proper to have a tip jar for the bartender?
The bartender is supplied by the Venue, but we have paid to have him there.
Thanks

I hate tip jars... (But I'm from New Zealand, so any sort of tipping is uncomfortable to me!!)
Our bartender didn't have a tip jar, but I did notice a few of the tipsier guests passing her bills as they ordered their drinks from her. She just pocketed the money straight away

Leave it up to the bartender to put one out.. We also had a small wedding and that was one less thing that I worried about..
