Hi ladies...I am happy to announce that FH and I have chosen a venue and our wedding date!!!!!! 

November 7th, 2009 at Carmen's Banquet Centre in Hamilton!!!

I can't believe it! We actually have a wedding date! I'm on cloud nine.
Although I had a stressful time trying to book with this venue, and was quite disappointed with how long it took them to get back to us, we had an amazing meeting with them on Tuesday, he was totally apologetic, he explained why he didn't get back to us right away, and we understood. We had brought our wedding planner with us to the meeting and she used to work there as well so she knows how hectic it can get there, but gave us another event planner to get a hold of us if it was hard to get him.

Anyways they gave us the most "bang" for our buck, I am SO happy with everything I am getting with them. They are the only ones that are able to work with us budget wise and we're glad!

SO November 7th, 2009 is the DAY! Now its time to have fun and plan!
We go back some time next week to sign the contract and give a deposit. Now its on to find a ceremony location!

It really is a great place with an amazing price.

What package did you pick? Which room?

You also went with Carmen's too right??

I went with the La Sposa menu but added both hors'douevres and soup...we have pasta, 2 meat entrees so a chicken and beef I think.Salad and Dessert (we might also do a dessert show)...we added the Portuguese late night buffet (I am portuguese so its a must-have)..with lots of lobsters, crab legs, shrimp etc etc. I added the chocolate fountain...Open bar and added Martini's.

They have so many extras I wanted them all LOL
But I think we are going with the in-house DJ, are you?

Oh and we went with the Milano Room. We will have about 200-225 people, Maybe more who knows!

SO exciting!!!!!!!!!!

Still deciding what extras we want, it is hard to pick. We are going to use their DJ, the price is too good not to. When are you getting married?

We are going to go with Carmen's as well. April 26th 2009 is the date we are aiming for but it's not official till we put down our deposit (it will be April/09 though) We are going to go with the "Extravaganza" Package. We will be in the "The Venetian" room with between 125-140 guest.

We are so happy and impressed with the service we are getting from them. They are really willing to work with us to make this happen. Just a few week ago we were just planning to have a very simple tea and cake reception at the church, we didn't think we could afford a big reception but after meeting with the owner of Carmen's, we now have the reassurance that they will work with us so that we can afford this, it really makes me so HAPPY!!!!!!
