LO will only breastfeed from the right side, i have tried and am continuing to try to get her to feed from the left one but she wont eat more than 3-5 mins on the left then she gets really fussy. We have tried different positions or starting on the right then going to the left or starting on the left from the start but she is not having any of it. So i am wondering if i feed her on the right for example 20 mins, do i need to pump the left for the same amount of time and should i do it every feed as i have to feed her from the right every time? Also with the pumped milk, when i pump every time do i just keep adding that new amount to the previous stored quantity if i store it all the fridge? thanks

Make your feeding as equal as possible. I ended up with a boob that was much bigger then the other because of forgeting which side I fed on last. If she won't eat for much time on that side, keep trying and pump to make up the difference. Eventually one side won't be enough food for her and she'll give in and get used to it!

If your LO won't nurse from the one side, then pumping would be helpful. The general guideline for pumping is at least 15-20 mins or until there is no more milk coming out plus 5 mins.

Some women find they get more milk when they pump one side as the baby is nursing on the other side - you can experiment with that if you like.

My DD prefers one side over the other and that side does make more milk. For some time she didn't want one side, so I used the football position on the side she didn't like to nurse from. This way her body was in the same position as it was for the side she did like and I could coax her into taking it with more ease. Lying down to nurse is also another option that often works for some moms.

Hope that helps.

My LO is the same way.  She will eat between 8-10 minutes and she's satisfied after feeding on one side.  I don't pump off the other side.  I just start her on the opposite side the next time.  I have no problems with my milk supply doing this.
