I wouldn't want to give my child more than one middle name.  I like the flow of first, middle, last and when you think about filling out forms, etc. the world seems to be designed for people with that structure   Also, to those considering calling their child by a middle name - may I humbly suggest you reconsider?  I have spent my life having important documents come to "Sarah" and having to explain that just because my parents chose to call me by my middle name (Kirsten), that doesn't mean its not my LEGAL name, etc.

That's funny Kirsty - I go by my middle name as well LOL

Our child(ren) will only have one middle name. It will either be Nicole (my middle name) or Jane (my mom's middle name) for a girl. For a boy either Robert or Thomas (DH's middle names).

My DD has 2 middle names. We did this because DH wants to pass along his name to our son (when/if we have a boy) and he will have 2 middle names. I'm one of those people who can't have one child with 1 middle name and another with 2. So we decided all of our kids will have 2 middle names. I like it that way, because for me, middle names are significant names, or at least they are in my family, so now we can honour more of our family.

Our daughter is Charlotte Elizabeth (my middle name) Marie (my Mom's middle name).

We're having a tough enough time picking out a FIRST name for our LO... I haven't even started to think about middle names. We'll probably only do one middle name just because we won't be able to agree upon or think up 2! I have two middle names, sort of. It's Dawn-Marie... I don't think my mom originally hyphenated, but that's how it is now. It's annoying because on my health card it says Nicole-Dawn Marie, so someone obviously put the hyphen in the wrong spot. I think I'd be fine if my parents had just picked ONE middle name.

Our son's middle name will be Carter. My hubby is a nutso baseball fan and I said our son could have a baseball middle name but not the first name. So, he will be Aaden Carter after Joe Carter from the Blue Jays

IYO, is it OTT?

I teach a lot of Spanish and Portuguese speakers, and it's totally normal for their names to not even fit on the attendance sheet. You could sell the idea to your husband by saying that it's totally normal in some cultures.
