| Hello, I am new to the board but I have to say this is hands down the best site I have been to so far. I am getting married 27 Jun 2009 and until I came here I was at a lose where to even start. So with much great advice from here I am on my way to planning the wedding. My question is, I live in a small town and there are no bridal shops here. I have been looking to get my dress online and I have found the one I am in love with. Problem is I can only find it on one site however I am not sure if i should get it from there. Can anyone tell me anything about this place: www.thebridalgowns.com Any advice would be great appreciated. Thanks Nyca

| I don't know anything about that site. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses form netbride.com. I haven't received them yet, but the ordering process was great (awesome customer service) and they match any price you find for your dress. Send an e-mail to the address on the website and include the dress designer, style or model and a picture if you'd like and ask them for a quote - shipping to canada is really reasonable (beware of duty on dresses made outside of north america) and they are great with guaranteeing delivery times. good luck!!!

I don't know anything about that site but I do think you should try on a few dresses before making a decision! Take your fiance or a few friends and go to the nearest city for a day. You might find that what you think you like is not actually what feels right when you try it on (at least that was my experience).

Hi Nyca!! Welcome to CB! I agree with PP. I had a certain dress in mind and when I actually went to try gowns on, I ended up picking something completely different. You DEFINITELY have to try some on to find out which style you like. Good luck sweetie!

Thanks Nyca I bought my dress from them from through their ebay auctions when they were selling their samples and they were great to deal with. They sent it UPS and I had 3 days later. They were super friendly, answered my questions right away. Awesome people.
Wear a white wedding dress? Why, are we bar hopping?

I LOVE dresses that look terrible on my body type and i wouldnt really know how terrible unless I had tried one on.

However I spoke with my MOH and my BM and we are going to go ahead and take the trip. Going to drive out and spend a few days going to different shops. I think the advise you and the others was the best way to go. I have a very samll budget to work with and would cry if I ordered one online and hated how it looked on me. I certainly don't look like a model hehe. Good news is I finished my save the date magnets and willl be giving those out this weekend...I am not good at crafts so I am pretty impressed with them heheh. Thanks ladies
