Thats great! Still some others may not. I my situation my dress was ordered, but never paid for because it was a bankruptcy and they ordered it the day they closed down. So hopefully it was just her decision to close the store, not a bankruptcy.

Finally Mrs. King

I was there yesterday and saw a piece of paper telling people to call her and she will be returning calls.  I didn't think they've closed the store down entirely!   I've been there a few times since it is close to my work.  I am shocked. Wonder what happened...

After a week of no returned phone calls I decided to go to Laura's Dream Bridal where I ordered my wedding dress and my maid of honour ordered her's. I showed up and the doors where locked, lights out and nothing in the store. My wedding is in nine weeks and now I have no dress! These people knew for a long time they'd be shutting down and have not had the curteousy to call their brides and let them know what is going on. Apparently she moved out of the store overnight last Tuesday... so its been five days, many messages and I haven't heard a word. I'm assuming I've lost my deposit and will not see this dress. This is disguisting.... she should at least have the curteousy to call her clients and let them know WHAT IS UP!

What size are you?  I have a cream coloure dress that I descided against that I would be happy to give if you need one last minute.

Almost married.  November 22nd.

People could you RSVP already???

Here are the honest facts! I have not run away. Laura's Dream
Bridal did close it's doors due to both stress and financial reasons. There is no bankruptcy involved. Some point out there are many ways a person can move on in life. One thing is no matter what you do it will be wrong in someones eyes. Under extreme pressures and stresses things happen. Most people can just leave a job and move on... I could not .... I have not stopped working for all of the customers that are remaining to be worked with. It just sometimes takes time to get things worked out and organized with all of the factors involved.

A very good portion of the gowns have been delivered at this time and the rest are being worked on as some have future due dates. I have one supplier... honestly the one I owe the least amount of money to and brought him an extreme amount of business causing me grief. Bridalane and Private Label wrapped up well and were very moral and open to working with me to make the Brides happy. Romantic on the other hand has been the worst case I have ever had to deal with flip flopping on agreements and not having any concerns or moral values to the end user. Quite frankly after 3 years of dealing with them I am in shock with their attitude! 21 years in the bridal industry and a very high moral value have kept me working through these stresses to finish the final customers. I have been surmounting things most of you could not have dreamed of facing. Right now I believe I am working at it harder than when the store was open. One bride with stress is one thing but dealing with 1000's over 21 years got to me. Some of you will not care... I understand. But for those who have worked with me or known me well writing this is important to me. I am sorry to those girls who got the not so happy me towards the end of the store life.
I apologize if anyone is uncomfortable, feeling missed or worried. I have never closed contact lines and I am working very hard to make sure that I finish what I started.

Most stores close and run. I have not done that. And yet this factor has caused more pain than you may believe. I have changed location to save money to deal with the final girls and not have staff or overheads ( which is a shame because they were a wonderful staff) I am trying to be different but it is a very painful and stressful process. I am a one person show right now trying to resolve all the issues. I invite anyone who has any further questions to e-mail me at laura@laurasdreambridal.com.

To the person that said I 'lied' cast a stone but remember if you have ever worked through issues that are troublesome I can hardly believe you never embellished truth, got confused, mixed up or made the wrong statements during stressful situations. Did you mom receive her dress... fitted and good or did you let me know the issues at the time.... hard to defend! Anyway I have crossed paths with thousands of brides and worked with a very large chunk of them and have few complaints. No one is perfect and I always say that about myself.

Remember Dear Brides... The dress is the icing.... You are not marrying the dress you are marrying your soul mate.....

Keep Real

Good life to you

Thanks Laura for bringing the facts to light.  I can personally attest to the fact that you have kept your word and honored your contracts.  My gorgeous dress is hanging in my closet to prove it.  Despite the sad closing of your store, I have had nothing but positive encounters with you and your staff.

I will say that I am sad to see the store closing.  I know you have your reasons, but I wanted to say that shopping for a dress was not the great experience I had expected it to be...UNTIL I ENTERED YOUR STORE.  It was the only store I went to where I felt like the customer mattered and I wasn't just another of a zillion brides you see (even though I"m sure I was).  You and your staff were extremely patient and treated me like a queen.  As someone who is not in the least comfortable clothes shopping, I can't tell you how much that meant to me.  I wish you luck in everything you do in the future and hope that brides can find other places like yours that can give them the dress buying experience they deserve.  Thank you again for everything.
