| I ordered my dress about 6 months ago from a store in St. Dorothy in Quebec (near Montreal). I went in to go for my first fitting and I have never in my life been treated so badly by a sales person at the store. The worst part about it was the owner. I live in Toronto but am getting married in Montreal so I figured it would be easier to buy my dress in Montreal so I wouldn't have to transport it. When I bought the dress, I told them I don't live in the city. They said it wouldn't be a problem. They are now, after I bought the dress, informing me that they do not and will not do any dress fittings on the weekend. When I told the woman that the did not inform me of this when I bought the dress, she replied "well, I can't tell you all the policies of my store." (who says that!?) They are charging me 1/3 of the price of the dress for alterations that are minor and basic (bustling the dress and shortening it). And worst of all, they were just plain rude about everything. They have ruined the entire experience of buying an amazing dresss for my wedding. My mother and I have not slept for the past 3 weeks since this happened. I'm at a complete loss and I don't know what to do about it. I sincerely hope that no other readers have to endure the horrible experience that I have. The dress should be the most fun part and I hope it is for all of you!

My suggestion would be to pay for your dress and take it somewhere else for the alterations if you are not happy.

I say take the dress and find somebody who can do the alterations in TO. And make sure you do a vendor review with the store's name. Sorry they're taking the fun out of it for you.

| Where can I do a vendor review? I most definitely will! Every bride should stay far away from this store! My mother actually picked the dress up today - the EXTREMELY NICE people at another store have said that they will make an exception and do the alterations for me. Funny how the store where I did NOT buy the dress is being nicer to me than the store where I bought it! Also, when I went to look for a dress there the first time, they had cut all the labels out of the dresses so you couldn't tell who the designer was. I'm guessing it was so you were forced to buy the dress from them if you like it - have you ever heard of that? I don't think the designer would be too pleased!

You should do the review in the Products and Services forum
