| I would really love an outdoors wedding but I was hoping to not have to wait until next summer to have our wedding (since we're moving then and don't want it to be a sad occasion, we love the season... it's when we started dating..., and we're just ready). Am I absolutely crazy to try to have a winter wedding with a ceremony outdoors right at about sunset (which will be around pm in Edmonton in November!) and then have an indoors reception with hot chocolate, white lights, etc. I checked the Farmer's ALmanac and they just said "cold" for that weekend we prefer.
Also, what could I get my bridesmaids to wear to not freeze, and the guys for that matter? All of our wedding party doesn't want to have to buy black wool coats. ANy ideas about the whole event??? Thanks in advance! I love this talkboard!!!

| I would be too scared to try it and I hate winter but I can picture an absolutely beautiful winter wedding. Just have an indoor back up plan in case of extreme weather.

..and it depends when you have it in november.....usually we dont get "winter" weather until decemeber...the last few years its still very fall like weather into mid november......

I think if you prepare well for it, and have enough stuff to keep your guests warm, extra blankets/hot chocolate/coffe/tea than it's a great idea. Also think if you have alot of elderly guests they might not be able to stand outside for too long.

personally i hate winter....BUT before the boards were erased there were some GORGEOUS winter weddings on here that totally changed my mind! i think if you want it do it!

| What if you rented some of those patio heaters so it took the chill off the air? That might make it more bareable for your guests. I'm with hunter, I hate winter, but I've seen some gorgeous pics of winter wedding, and if that's where your head is....run with it!
