My little guy is almost 3 months now and we are having problems getting him to fall asleep on his own. The only way he falls asleep is either during nursing or when he is in the sling. Most naps occur with me putting him in the sling cause he fights his sleep...how can I get him to learn to fall asleep on his own?????

Any advice would be appreciated.

I kinda have a similar problem with my little guy.   He always needs to be held to be put to bed.   What I find helps is a soother.  He loves his soother and it puts him to sleep

Just curious.. why is it a problem if he nurses to sleep?  Do you have to have someone else put him down?

I love it when my lo will nurse to sleep. It's the easiest and most calming, comfortable bedtime for both of us...

DD usually nurses to sleep... but I'm lucky too that the girl will often fall asleep wherever she is on her own, be it the bed, her bouncy chair, etc.

I have no prob with nursing her to sleep though, I love it too as PP said it's calming for both of us. I hope you get some advice that helps you out!

oh i don't mind when he nurse to sleep but eventually he will be off the breast and on formula and it won't have the same soothing effect. When he gets a bottle now he never falls sleep with it.
