| Dumb question...if I do a seating cards, do I need to put up a seating chart so people know where to go or do they just walk from table to table looking for their seating cards?? We are having about 10-12 tables...

We are having about 10-12 tables... 10-12 tables isn't a lot but if you want to avoid some confusion a seating chart would be a good idea. Or you can have someone in your wedding party with a master list to let people know to go to table ____. This is what my planner suggested.

| I have done both. My dilema was that I was worried people would not see the seating chart and then sit at a table and with cards on the table atleast this would prompt them to see where they are supposed to be seated.

| I had the same question myself too... but I decided to just to the seating chart because I got too much on my plate already!!! FYI, I will have around 10 tables too.

| I am going to be doing cards because we have long tables not round and definatly need to tell people where to sit. this being said i have to have a chart to let people know where to go, that or have someone tell them but it will be easy enough to to a chart, I will probably mock it up on Photoshop then go to my school and use their plotter to print it off nice and big, and spray adhesive it to foamcore, then add some decorative touches. if you are doing rounds, or dont care who sits in what exact seat just go with a chart (or for super formal events individual place cards that list the table name that are lined up in alphabetical order which guests pick up and take to the table. I plann on having my seating chart set up durring the cocktail hour so people can see it while they are waiting.

| Could you not put people's names and table number on name cards on a table at the entrance of the reception? The only downside would be if you wanted to place people in specific seats rather than them choosing where they sit at the tablel. I'm sure most people could sort themselves out though on rounds of 8 or 10? Surely!

I think I'm going to do escort cards and then maybe have a large "map" of the hall so people know where their tables are . . . perhaps I will list people at the table too. I don't know yet.
