I'm just venting here, it's about 12:30am where I am and it seems like I can't even close my eyes!  Aren't I supposed to be FATIGUED!!!  I went to bed at 10 and pretty much just sat there rolling around and tossing and turning.

It seems like pretty much since I got my bfp I haven't been able to get comfortable or cuddle with DH (which we usually always do while sleeping) or fall sleep at a decent time.  I'm not tired during the day either.  I know everyone here that can barely get their head up from being tired is going to kill me lol, but I almost wish I were like that!

Has anyone else felt this way?  I don't feel stressed right now, so I don't think that's a factor; at first I thought it was just because I was so excited about the bfp, but ok 2 weeks later, that can't be it.  I'm sure the 5 times a night bathroom trips don't help either lol.

I don't even know if pregnancy has anything to do with it, but man, I just don't feel tired at all! Grrrr.  I was even thinking about waking DH up to see if he was up for sex just because it might tire me out lol.  (plus he'd be half asleep so I'd have to do all the work)

Thanks for letting me vent!  If anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know.

I can't relate in my first trimester, but now that I'm in my third I totally get you.  My brain is on overdrive and I just keep thinking about all the things I could be doing.

Maybe it's just how your body is dealing with the hormones.  Hopefully it will pass soon.  Otherwise there's something called Calm you can get from the health food store.  DH swears by it, I think it's ok during pregnancy, but I'd ask to be sure.  There's also something called Valerian Root which should not be used often in pregnancy, but I've taken it a couple of times on those nights where I just couldn't get ANY sleep.  It's not a sleeping pill, it just helps to relax you so you can get to sleep.  It works well if you take it with Magnesium.  Or sex!!!  lol

Are you sure it's not psycological?  The frequent bathroom trips shouldn't be starting until there's pressure on your bladder (which at this point in your pregnancy isn't happening yet ).

Try and relax before you go to bed.  Have a cup of tea (decaf.) or warm milk.  Have a warm bath with lavender bath scents.  Read a book.  Also try not consuming any caffiene after noon (I don't know if you've cut it out completely).  And try and clear your mind.  Don't think about things when you're in bed.  Don't drink anything 2 hours before you go to bed.

Do you watch TV in bed?  Try and associate your bed with sleeping.  I had a BIG problem sleeping before I was pregnant and had to do most of the above to get to sleep.

I went through that when I was 5-8 weeks pregnant. Thankfully it passed!! The exhaustion hit after that though. I don't think there is much you can do for it though.

Married the Best Man on Land or Sea on Sept 29/07.

Princess Elizabeth Aria arrived on Dec 10/08.

Thanks for all the advice, no I don't usually watch TV in bed, or associate it with much to do with sleeping (and sex lol)  but I agree that it might be psychological.  I definitely do have a lot going through my mind when I go to sleep so I will try my best to clear it.  We'll see how it goes!

I'm the exact opposite of what Iggy (i think??) said. I can't sleep unless I have the tv on. I put it on low so I can't hear it, put closed captioning on, and set the timer. I'm out before it is most nights.

Ditto... and I definitely had to go to the bathroom more frequestly even early on.  I thought you weren't supposed to have the 'need' until later on as well, but I actually need to go less now! lol  I'm backwards
