I just need to get this horrible sinking feeling off my chest . . .

I went for my first fitting last night and it was too small - it has to be let out 2 inches! Is it normal for me to feel so overwhelmingly crushed by this??  As of the moment I realised it was too tight (to say the least) I am at war with food!

The seamstress said it is fine and that they can let it out - second fitting next Friday.  But I can't help but feel so disappointed (in myself) I ordered the dress in February and now 8 months later I no longer fit in the same size! This totally sucks!

ok-I'm done now, thanks.

Hi there,

saying don't worry about it is easier said than done, so I won't say that. It's so frustrating when something like this happens - I definitely know your pain. But maybe try and stay away from salty foods and try to reduce your carb intake for the next week and you never know, you might be surprise at how much that'll help!

I'm sure your dress looks abosolutely stunning!!

Thank-you. Every little ounce of support makes me feel so much better.

Heh, I totally get it, I bought a dress a year ago for my anniversary surprise to my husband last April,(I'm under the post in regards to how much bouquests cost) when I first tried it on I couldn't even get it up above my hips let alone zip it up. I decided thats it I'm giving up food. OK seriously I didn't have a huge amount to lose so i figured, get through the holidays and then start fresh in the new year. OK seriously like literally a month before my anniversary i tried the dress on again and i guess with the stress of trying to plan the surprise i lost some weight. So then i only had little more to go to get it done up. I went to my sister's to get her to help me with altering the hem and she gave me some advice (as she's diabetic) she told me the BIGGEST contributer is pop. OH NO I love gingerale. Ok and chocolate, well for the next month i ate very carefully (I'm sick of salads) and LOTS of Crystal lite(strawberry/orange/banana) and NO chocolate and gingerale. It was NOT easy. I certainly made up for it after though. When I went to put it on it fit perfectly I had lost so much even with AF showing up unexpectly the next day i was not bloated. SO don't worry, you'll get in your dream dress, and you will look Mavelous Dahlin.
