| I know MOST get it done while their baby is a newborn. Our baby is now 5months (actual age), 3months (corrected age), and due to a recent urinary tract infection, and was told he has a tight foreskin...we now want it done. But problem is, which doctor that performs circumsizions would do it on older babies?? I called one doctor today and he said he only does babies up to 3weeks. What do I do now?

| These doctors who won't do it should be giving you the name of a doctor who will do it. I think you just need to be assertive...don't just accept 'I won't do it' as an answer say, 'ok then can you give me the name of a doctor who will'. I have to say I am frustrated that doctors seem to just keep brushing you off! Don't let them do it anymore. Good luck

| Maybe you could call the post-partum floor where he was born, and ask for doctors who perform circumsisions? They may have a list, as I am sure they get asked alot.

My DH was circumsized at the age of 7, so there's obviously doctors that do it beyond newborn stage. You might need to locate a cosmetic surgeon or perhaps a urologist to find one, though.
Sorry I can't help more,

I know many men who were circumcised in their 20's, 30's and 40's (including my father and brother). It can be done. I think you may just have to ask your family doctor for referrals.

the paediatricians that i work with only do babies up to 3 months i believe. if parents choose to have it done after that, they have to go through their family doctor to refer them to someone who does 'older' babies. where are you located? i could try and find some names out for you. i live in brampton. send me a message if you are in the area and i can try and find some docs who do it.
