I am having an issue with my e-ring.  Sometimes it fits perfectly, but other times my fingers 'shrink' and it flips and swings around my finger.  I have gone to a few jewelry stores and they confirm that some people's fingers swell, especially in warm weather and shrink when cold.  My ring didn't bother me all summer but now that it's getting cooler, my hands are always cold and my ring is driving me nuts!  The ring stores recommend a ring guard.  They mostly have metal ones which get attached to the ring but some stores have warned me that this puts stress on the ring and may scratch it, so they recommend a plastic one.  I checked Claire's and Ardene, where they sent me but they don't know what I'm talking about.  Anyone have this problem and know where to find plastic ring guards?  Or have any other suggestions that help?

Here is a picture of plastic ring guards I found online:
They have a slit along the side to slip on and off
the ring and are more friendly for your ring...

You can find them at Walmart in the jewellery section.  I have the very same problem as you although I only wore the guard for a couple of days then stopped wearing it.  It is annoying when my ring turns and flips but as long as it wont actually come off my finger then I don't really worry about it.  I had to get it sized when I first got it because it had the potential to come right off my finger.  Another option is to get "stabilizer balls" put on the inside of your ring to prevent it from rotating and keep it centered.  You jeweller can do this for you and they can also remove it if you are not happy.  Hope that helps

Hi there,

I used to be an assitant manager at Claire's. If you go in and look on the earring trees there are packages of ring "snugglies".  they cost $6 for a package of 5 if I remember correctly.  Where are you located?? I might be able to direct you exactly where you need to be

I have the same problem, my ring fits perfectly when my hands are warm, but when they are coldish it is WAY too big! I'm afraid I'm going to loose it down the drain when washing my hands. I brought it to the jewelry store and the lady working said that it fit fine and not to make it any smaller (my hands were really warm) and wouldnt bring it down a quarter of a size, said "it wasn't worth it". So I would have to bring it down a half a size, and then it might be too small! erg! I'll have to bring it back to the store I bought it at, but then they send it away to get sized and it takes about a week .

I got a package of 3 at WalMart as well. It was money well spent considering I don't need to worry anymore about losing my ring!

You can find them at Zellers, they are 5.97 for 6 of them, they come in different sizes. I just recently bought some because I can now fit my engagement ring on my middle finger because I have lost almost 25 pounds. I have big fingers in the first place!!! Size 10!

Thanks girls!  I am in Ajax, so I'll check Walmart for them.  The jewelry store told me not to have it sized down any more either because then it might be too small when my fingers are warm.  So the plastic ring guards seem to be the best solution for now!
