We turned the heat on for the first time last Thursday... just too cold.  But last night we didn't need it on.  We have a digital thermostat so its set to 17.5 at night and 21 during the evenings (we're both gone during the day)

We've set our for 18 degs when we're home and 17 when we're not. I keep the blinds open to try and get all the sunlight I can.

I agree it's not as cozy as I would like but I'm too cheap to turn it up. We have a natural gas insert in our fireplace in the basement so we usually put that on when watching movies.

I usually don't turn the heat on until it's literally freezing in this house. However I turned it on already because of our baby. I know you just had a LO too bella so maybe you can use hat excuse with your DH.

Haha when I lived in an apartment, the landlord controlled the heat and it was on from September untill May (I think there is a by-law in London about this??)..anyways, it SUCKED. It was always on when it was hot out...and then too hot all winter long. I lived in a high concentration of seniors area, so they always needed it hot...we had our windows open pretty much year round when we lived there
