| Thanks so much ladies! I think I'm going to go with a midwife this time around. I used a obgyn for my first pregnancy and I hated how they always rushed me out, I don't need an hour but my doc could at least pretended to care about me! I think I heard that a midwife will spend time in the delivery room massages you to help prevent tearing, the docs dont care at all, they just tell you to push, and whatever happens...happens. I had a 3rd degree tear, and the biggest issue I had with that was have a bowel movement.

I had a mw and the pre and post natal support was amazing. However I still had an episiotomy and a 4th degree tear with a forceps delivery. It was a nightmare, so although my bedside care was phenomenol my bumgina (aka vaganus) didn't listen to mw! Sometimes sh*t happens and there's nothing you can do! However Best of luck!
