Hi everyone,

I need some help thinking things through because we are about to order our invitations. We created a wedding website for people to print off a map and rsvp online. There are some friends and family members who aren't very computer savvy, so they will be getting a traditional invitation. I want to make sure I order the proper enclosures...I feel like I might be missing something.

For those using the website, all they need is:

1) invitation, 2) outer envelope, and 3) a 3.5x5 card explaining who is invited and how to rsvp on our website. Does that sound correct?

For the traditionalists, they need:

1) invitation, 2) outer envelope, 3) rsvp card, 4) rsvp envelope and 5) a directions card. How does that sound?

Now do I include the website url in the traditionalists package? I feel like if they go to the site and see the RSVP link they might get somewhat confused. Tricky thing is there's some hotel information and wedding details that (if they can get online) will be very useful. My only thought is to change the name of the rsvp link to "online rsvp"....that way if they already mailed one in they might know to avoid that page?!?!

Thoughts....opinions....advice?!?

Thanks,

JG

my opinion is it sounds too complicated just reading it...

I would have the same invitation package for everyone and on the rsvp card have a line that reads some thing about the online rsvping

gee thanks.....

we want to save some paper and save money so we've already decided that a majority of the guests will rsvp online.....about 14 invitations will be traditional ones.

That sounds good to me.  I think I would include the website url on every invitation, even the traditional ones and then definitely change the rsvp link to say "online rsvp".  Then at least if the people who got the traditional invite can check it out if they find the chance and see the other information provided.  But it sounds like you got it covered.

I also have a website and am doing an online RSVP. I am sending the same ones to everyone in a traditional manner persay sending an rsvp card and envelope to everyone cause I am not so worried on the cost of it.

This is what ours say

The favour of a reply is requested on or before

Date XXX.

Please Reply online at:

http://www.theknot.com/ourwedding/ErinGray&JasonHall

password: xxx

Or return this card in the provided envelope.

Name _____________________
________Number of Persons

Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or needs.

email

You could do something like that but have an 'or reply and look up current information at online at www. ...' at the bottom of the page.

you could also include an information card along iwth a map that gives out that useful info.

Is there no way to include the "useful information" for the traditional invites without referring to the website?

And unless you have hundreds of guests, would it really be so bad if a few people accidentally RSVP'd by paper and online?  Worst case scenario, you have to call a few people and clarify if they plan to attend.  One of my cousins said they were allergic to cucumbers on their RSVP card (I had a line for allergies).  I checked, and he wasn't allergic to cucumbers, he thought it was funny.  He's a friggin' idiot and it was a minor waste of my time, but not a huge deal.

Live. Love. Laugh.
