I ate well and walked.  I gained 50 pounds.  I've lost all that plus 20 and my lo is 10 months old. I've been really working at it though running, weight watchers and breastfeeding is amazing!  Don't worry about the weight gain as long as you are eating healthy for you lo.!

I'm sorry to hear that perhaps your Mom isn't the most positive role model with your pregnancy (add into this the whole Diclectin scenario with your Mom).  I'm 25 weeks and have put on 25lbs.  It seems like alot to me but it's not like I'm eating crap.  I'm actually eating the best I EVER have!  Every woman's body reacts differently to pregnancy and does what it has to to produce a healthy baby.  I'd seriously ask your Mom to mind what she says.  If I remember correctly, she's in healthcare?  She should seriously know better than that.

Luckily you have us ladies!   We won't BS you!

I am 23.5 weeks and have gained 10 lbs so far...my dr told me the recommended weight gain is 25 lbs. I was 110 lbs pre-pregnancy and am 5'6. I have been worried about not gaining ENOUGH weight but he assures me that for my 'small' bone build that I am doing just fine and will gain quite a bit in the last month-2 months.  So now I am using a "carte blanche" and eating whatever I want, whenever....lol   If you are really worried, talk to your OB and see what they say!

I totally agree that people tell you all of the bad stuff and it seems like so many women want to make it out like they had it worse than the next one.

I ate like I always have (I was always a person who could eat whatever they want and not gain weight) and gained around 66 pounds. When I got pregnant I was between 117 - 120 and when DS was born I was 186. From 4-5 months I gained 10 pounds (my Dr was convince I had gestational diabetes and freaked me out), but the next month I only gained one.

Now 6 months later I weigh 125 and I have done nothing but breastfeed to lose the weight. I look almost like I did before pregnancy....with my clothes on anyways lol! I have lost weight steadily since having DS and it came off very quickly initially. I figure that my body obviously just needed that weight in order to make a healthy baby especially since it hasnt hung on to any of the weight.

I have seen your belly pics and you look fantastic. Every woman is different and I dont think you have anything to be worried about.

Was ldeitz.....now lstashko...but you can call me Lisa

Like a lot of people have said, everyone is different! I ate quite a bit of junk food while pregnant (I craved Wendys all the time) and I had a bowl of cereal every night about 10pm before going to bed. In the end, I only gained 27lbs! And 3 months post partum, I have lost it all.

Don't let people scare you or make you feel bad. As long as your healthy and your doctor thinks you are too, then I am sure you are fine. And don't worry about losing the weight after....it will happen. Just enjoy your pregnancy and quit worrying!!
