I was thinking of just doing a school bus because limos are soooooo expensive - now I'm thinking just renting mini vans would be better (have two and pick two groomsmen to drive them). If we picked them up on the wedding day and dropped them off Monday morning, it's $350. The school bus was $650. A limo . . . oh lord - too much.

Or is it horrible of me to ask the bridal party to just drive in their own cars out to our photo location (about 15 minutes from church)?

What did you guys do or what are you planning?

I rented a car ('47 Cadillac).  That's it.  The girls and I will go to the church in it together, FH and I will be in it alone after the wedding and the wedding party has been told they'll be carpooling to pictures.  They are all fine with it!  You have to do what suits your budget and what you want.

We are renting a party bus. It is cheaper then a limo, it cost us all together $850 for 4 hours and thats tip included. The bus is picking us up to take us for our photos, and then we have a extra hour at the end to drive around the city having a few drinks and then they are dropping us off at the Reception 15-20 mins before our grande enterance.

Here are a few photos..looks kind of like a 'special van' from the outside, but inside its really nice..plus its nice for the Groom/Groomsmen because they are all over 6 feet.

WHA??? The same bus in Guelph, they want to charge me $1600 for! And the GTA companies aren't much better - even if they offer cheaper prices, they want to charge me more because they're leaving the city.

I've been sterring away from the limo idea too.  I then began looking at car rentals, school bus rentals and charter buses.  I found someone else's post on the board that used L&L charter bus services, so I looked into it.  You can get a 24 person charter bus for $105 an hour.  Also, Attridge has their 24 seater bus for $350.

I am leaning towards one of these options because limos are so expensive and theres not a ton of room in them.  With a bus you can transport wedding party and parents with tons of room.  I havent booked yet so not 100% sure what we'll do.

We're doing a limo. We're a Sunday wedding, so the limo's are cheaper then. $600 for the limo which is good

As long as you let them know in advance, there's no reason why you cannot do this. I have been in a wedding party that did this before, however that means the dates have to come along too, etc.

I've also been in a wedding party where I don't think the bride thought of it and at last minute, we were all crammed in a surprised aunt's minivan.
